寿司ふじ シャングリラを発見しました。滋賀県の私の住んでいるところの近くにあります！ 寿司ふじ大津店は素晴らしい家族経営の懐石料理店です！ I have discovered Shangri-La; Sushi Fuji Otsu is a wonderful kaiseki restaurant run by a staff of family members and overseen by the strict but fair perfectionist known as the Big General! All their dishes are delicious traditional Japanese cuisine, but with added elements of subtle scientific experimentation to improve the appearance and taste. The Young General is their super-accomplished chef and I am always thankful to Toshinori-san, who explains every dish and each type of drink with such passion and insight and, even more importantly for me, in English! He can be heard moving from table to table switching from Japanese to English explaining the fare to the enthralled customers. He can create sake pairings for each of the dishes served or prepare a set of 3 different sakes and provide you with fascinating information about them. It is very rare to have the opportunity to hear such complex Japanese meals explained in English, so I heartily recommend gourmets of all nationalities to book a table and come to this fine establishment at once! Sushi Fuji Otsu has an extensive range of set course menus created every 2 months and updated with new dishes and features so that the selections are always fresh, seasonal and exciting. Toshinori-san can also patiently help with personal requests, food dislikes or allergies and even suggest tailormade meals for the individual, if time allows. However, it is recommended to just trust in the staff, leave it to them and reserve one of their extensive set course meals and you too can be transported to this Shiga Shangri-La!
