I visited Azabu KIZAN for a business dinner as a host. Opened by a Japanese owner who used to work for a prestigious professional firm, KIZAN provides sophisticated service in addition to carefully-crafted cuisine. French yet Japanese-like, the cuisine seems Japanese traditional KAISEKI, which is similar to Western haute-cuisine. For example, fresh tuna and sea urchin, which are typical KAISEKI ingredients, were served with French beets sauce. The owner speaks English fluently, so my guests enjoyed the cuisine and her selection of wine and Japanese SAKE.
